Dillmont's Encyclopedia of Needlework is a treasure I inherited from my grandmother in 1989. I never knew that there were so many aspects to needlework. I finally discovered that I was really good at something. This introduced me into whole new world. Until then reading was my only hobby. Last year, I happened upon Split Ring Tatting. I realised even if I learn about needlework to my dying day, there would still be a lot of things I've never even heard about.

Huck Embroidery
I missed getting online the last couple of weeks as I wasn't well.
We finally gave up on our old Acer scanner and went in for a new one. The old one had lived a full and fruitfull life. Thanks to this Acer, I could add to my collection of old and rare DMC crochet, cross stitch and Drawn Thread books borrowed mostly from 70 year and 80 year olds whose families think embroidery and needlework are a waste of time.

This is a Huck embroidery tablecloth we did in Needlework Class when I was in class IX - 1982. It looks a bit shabby close up as I never bothered to hand wash it.
Here is the close-up anyway.
